New adventures for the Thielen fam!

Well HI everyone!!!!

Sorry it’s literally been two years since I've been on my blog and updated you all on our life! We have been so busy the last couple years. Three kids really is like having 1,000,000 kids compared to two ;) Plus once your older kids start getting into activities and sports, life just gets a little bit more crazy. I don’t even know where to start but I just wanted to do a quick TIME out post to update you a bit especially since our big move change!

Most of you know, but we are officially North Carolina residents now. Adam signed his new contract back in March with the Carolina Panthers. And after 10 years and a lifetime in Minnesota it has been bittersweet. We were in Florida (where we have spent the off seasons) when Adam’s release happened..(when we got the news that the Vikings no longer wanted to discuss a new deal with Adam for this upcoming season.) Long story short we bought a house in Lake Nona (Orlando) last year when we fell in love with the community.. all to sell that house and move to Charlotte and so now we have the MN house (just in case we want to move back post football) and NC house (sorry that’s a lot of info in one quick sentence lol). So a lot of change happened in a short period of time. We had the home in FL to vacation and spend off season there the next couple years but God said nope I have different plans :)

Adam (and our family) have been so blessed to be with one NFL team as long as he did. Most players and families do not stay on a team that long and can move from team to team often (or just get cut). Coming from a D2 school & being undrafted (AND from growing up the biggest Viking fan) this was a dream come true. And for me it was too good to be true. We lived 10 minutes from my childhood home and my parents, childhood best friends, and a great community/church and school for our kids. We were disappointed with how it ended with the Vikings. When a new staff comes in sometimes they have different plans with where they want to take the team and that happened last season with the Vikings. Yes, it is a business but these are real people and families behind the scenes. We would have loved to finish out his career at “home'“ but it just didn’t work out that way. I do want to clarify one thing though because it has made me mad to read made up things after he signed with the Panthers. The decision did not have anything to do with money…yes he needs to make an income (this is his job) and provide for our family, but Adam truly wanted change and to be on a team that really wanted to utilize him and still had faith he could make plays. When the Vikes really did not try to keep him he knew it was time to move on.

And what a blessing these last few months have provided. God truly has been in charge this whole time and placed Adam (and our family) right where he knew we needed to be. The coaching staff and teammates have been so amazing. The faith and faith driven coaches have been so refreshing and impactful already for Adam. We can’t wait to see what this season holds. As always, I will just be praying he is healthy coming off the field each game (also praying he kicks some booty and proves the haters wrong). Praying for a great year or two for Adam and this team and then re-evaluating what will come next for Adam and our fam. We are so so thankful for all the support from MN fans, our community, and friends/ family. The Vikings organization really had been nothing short of amazing the past 10 years and Adam had the best experience. The staff and lifelong friendships he’s made on the team has been nothing short of amazing. They were very good to him, and our family while we were there, so we thank them and the whole state for the support. He’s bummed he couldn’t help bring that Super Bowl trophy to MN, the state he was born and raised in, but who knows he may be back to retire there someday.

The Thielen foundation will also stay in MN!!! We definitely plan to do some events here in Charlotte and want to make an impact in this community as well. But many of our projects will stay in Minnesota.

As of now we are still getting settled in. I have been a bit homesick but praying I meet my people here and gain a community. The kids are loving school so far. Asher is in first grade and Hudson goes to a four day 4’s pre k from 9:30-1. And Cora just started at the same pre-k two days a week:) It’s a blessing I can walk them to school since it’s right next to our house. Asher and Hudson are doing both soccer and football this Fall, so I am hoping I can find a sitter to help run them around when they have sports the same days:) My parents left about a month back and it’s been a bit difficult being a “single” type parent…especially when it seems like my kids have been non stop sick the last month. Luckily my parents are back in a week already and will be staying for a few of the home games! We are ready for the regular season to start and I know Adam (and myself) is grateful training camp is done!!! Now our fam can get on more of a schedule. We will have lots of family/friends coming in and out for home games here in Charlotte this year and we are excited to show them around our new city!

I promise to stay more up to date on family news, recipes, mom life, workouts, and all things in between. You can always let me know if you want me to share something. I try to be as open as I can (without getting a ton of hate). We do live a unique lifestyle (actually pretty normal) but I find passion in sharing my hobbies and thoughts with you all.

Thank you for the support and GOD bless!

xoxo,

MRS T
